A Poem

I meant to do my work today

I meant to do my work today,

But a brown bird sanf in the apple tree,

And a butterfly flittes across the field,

And all the leaves were calling me,

And the wind went sighing over the land,

Tossing the grasses to the fro,

And a rainbow held out its shining hand - 

So what could i do but laugh and go ?

sigh----(v)(風)發出颯颯聲,嘆息聲

toss----(v)使搖曳;投;扔

murmur----(v)(水)潺潺流

irresistible----(adj)無法抗拒的

guilt----(n)罪惡

boredom----(n)厭倦

scorn----(v)嘲弄

across the field----遍及田野

to and fro----來回地

hold out----伸出(手)
